- Summary: Was AmigaOS first?
- Keywords: If not, what?
-
- What was the first home computer multitasking Operating System that
- could handle pre-emptive multitasking? Was it AmigaOS or something
- before 1984/85?
-
- I remember OS/9 on the Tandy CoCo 3 could multitask but could it
- premptively multitask or just co-operatively? Also around which time did
- this OS get released?

- P.S. As a side note, not to start a thread, but could some people send me
- some arguements stating why MS-DOS cannot be considered an OS and is
- merely a glorified file loader? What is it about it that does not fit
- the description of a full fledged OS or if you think it is, what is it
- about it that MAKES it an OS. What ARE the requirements for an OS to be
- considered an OS? Send me e-mail preferably on THIS subject.
